My son picked this knife up mainly for a bait knife on his boat, stainless blade rubber handle. It worked great for that so he also took it deer hunting with him last year and when his hunting knife failed half way through gutting his kill he pulled out the BaHco and finished the job and then used it to skin the deer. This year he bought his younger brother and myself this knife. It's very sharp right out of the package, the hair just jumped off of my forearm where I tested it, the grip is very nice and not to small; I wear an XL glove. My sons knife has now butchered three deer and is just now showing signs that it needs to be sharpened.
