Leather Compass Case

The FS 37011 case is made of quality, thick leather with heavy duty stitching, suitable for holding the Suunto KB 14 compass or PM 5 clinometer, perhaps others of similar size. It's reminiscent of leather cases Suunto had years ago. Considering its build, this case is offered at a very fair price. When new, the fit is tight, but will become more limber with use and/or light wax or leather oil. The case would not hold either compass or clinometer with the optional protective yellow rubber covering attached, nor would there usually be much need for both. A 1/4 inch wider case, however, might be an improvement. The metal closure snap is tried and true rugged. The four rivets holding the belt loop, however, protrude inside the case and have potential to scratch aluminum or plastic. A stitched belt loop would be preferable in this regard, but may not last as long. A smoother inside rivet would seem a preferable solution. Minor points and very recommended, regardless. .

Well made F.S. brand item! Very strong snap closure, I don't expect it to wear out any time soon. Heavy leather will take abuse.
