Motorola Talkabout Two-Way Radio Model T478
Stay prepared for emergency situations with the T478. This two-way radio features a communication range of up to 35 miles as well as an FM radio and NOAA weather channels and alerts to keep you informed of real-time weather conditions. An emergency alert button transmits an alert siren followed by spoken or incidental sounds to let others know that you need assistance. The built-in LED flashlight ensures you have a ready light source when you need it. The radio is compatible with any FRS/GMRS radio and features 22 channels with 121 privacy codes to provide a total of 2,662 combinations. The T478 also features an IP54 weatherproof design, Quiet Talk™ to filter out unwanted transmissions from non-Motorola units, Push-To-Talk power boost that extends transmission range, iVOX/VOX for hands-free communication, 20 call tones, keypad lock, and low battery alert. The radio can be powered using the included NiMH rechargeable battery pack or 3 AA batteries. Quiet Charge lets you charge the radio and turn off calls while still receiving weather and emergency alerts. FCC license required for GMRS channels only. Can be used without license.
