Description

Tubex Tree Shelters, 5’ L (60”), Pack of 5

These pre-assembled, superior quality, twin-walled, translucent tubes provide a protected, growth-friendly environment for tree seedlings. In addition to offering protection from animals, wind, and chemical sprays, the shelters also provide a greenhouse environment which promotes seedling growth and reduces planting stress. Tubex’s exclusive laserline perforations split to prevent fast-growing trees from being constricted by allowing the trees to break free. The 4´L and 5´L shelters include bird netting that prevents birds from getting into the shelters and becoming trapped. The durable nylon ratchet locking ties are pre-threaded, pre-looped, and releasable. Constructed of UV-stabilized polypropylene co-polymer. Set of five shelters. Stakes sold separately. Diameter varies from 2.874” to 4.133” to allow shelters to be nested.

Note: Due to its length, 17007 requires a freight quote on each order.

These are great tree tubes which can be easily modified to promote airflow if needed.

The tree tubes are great. In Maryland, I used these for a 3000 tree planting under CREP. Had better than 95% survival and the trees grew quickly. I only gave this 3 stars because once the tubes are removed, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to recycle them. In the UK, TUBEX has a recycling program, but here in the US, I can't find anywhere to go. 3000 tubes is a small number considering how many trees have been planted in just my area. That is a lot of waste that goes into the local landfill and shouldn't.

Great for keeping the deer off of my white oak plantings. Prevents them from defoliating the leaves and rubbing off the bark.
